Health and Sexuality
Preventing Adolescent Pregnancy®
An age-phased program providing appropriate skills, insights, values, personal tools, peer support, and accurate information. Based on developmental stages, research, and reality, this abstinence-plus program centers on interactive, informal learning using a variety of role-plays, games, skits, presentations, videos, and other engaging activities to guide girls and young women in learning key information and gaining important skills that will increase their motivation and ability to engage in healthy relationships and become sexually healthy adults. The key is motivating girls to make smart choices—--either choosing to postpone sex or, if not, using effective protection against pregnancy and diseases.
Growing Together
The program is fun and filled with lots of activities! The eight hour program gives parents time to talk together without their daughters and lots of time for parents/daughter exercises. Growing Together is a program designed to help caregivers and their daughters ages 9 to 11 talk more comfortably about values, growing up, PUBERTY, sexual information, and the importance of communication. The overall goal of the Growing Together workshop is to help adults and the girls they care about learn new information and develop the skills they need to talk about sensitive topics, including:
- Family and personal values
- The changes that occur during puberty
- Adolescent sexual development and feelings
- Values and expectations for teen sexual behavior.
