Meet Ebony, a college senior who joined our program as a first year high school student.

“Coming from a family with no history of higher education, Ebony had big dreams but felt lost when it came to making them a reality. She didn’t know where to start with college applications or how to even explore her career options. Her confidence was shaken by the overwhelming obstacles in front of her.
Ebony participated in our programs and connected with one of our program facilitators who had a similar path. Through our programming, Ebony was able to discuss her academic goals to prepare for her college standardized exams.

But it wasn’t just about academics. Through workshop sessions, Ebony learned valuable life skills like leadership, time management, and self-advocacy. She began to see herself not just as a student, but as a future leader in her field of interest: graphic design. This was a dream she had long buried, thinking it was unattainable for someone like her.

Today, Ebony will be graduating in May with a degree in Graphic Design. She’s confident, prepared, and excited about the future—all thanks to the guidance, encouragement, and practical support she received through our programming and dedicated facilitators.

Ebony’s story is one of many. Each girl in our program faces her own unique challenges, but with the help of dedicated mentors, they are empowered to break through barriers and pursue their goals with confidence. The College and Career Readiness Program isn’t just about preparing young women for their next step; it’s about showing them that their dreams are within reach, no matter where they start.”
